Macedon Ranges Music Festival: This Saturday!

This Saturday, 3 March, we have a group of music performers and techs headed to the Gisborne Steam Park to take part in the Macedon Ranges Music Festival. Some of our talented musicians who will be performing on the Youth Stage include Annabel Thiele, ‘Dr Frisco’ (Blake Dickins, Angus Price, Oscar Lenaine-Smith, James Erickson), and Jasper Leach.
The VCE VET Music Industry Sound Production students in Units 1 to 4 will be providing sound, recording and video support to the Youth Stage.  The stage is sponsored by Braemar College, Music in the Central Highlands, and the Macedon Ranges Music Collective to support young musicians in the Macedon Ranges.
There will be a number of prizes for performers, ranging from time in a recording studio or cash amounts, to an opening slot at the 2019 festival.
This year, the main stage will feature Braemar Alumni band ‘Cacartu’ (Kaitlyn Secker, Seb Antoine, Kyle Muir, Lachlan Leeds, Brayden Smith) and a full day of great entertainment from the Ranges, Central Highlands and Melbourne.
Last year’s festival at the Gisborne Steam Park drew a crowd of over ten thousand people throughout the day. All proceeds from the festival go to benefit the Woodend-based Cambodian Kids Foundation.
