Year 11 student off to Magic Moments Summit

One of our Year 11 students Scout Seeley will broaden her horizons and build her leadership skills over the July school holidays by attending the Magic Moments Youth Leadership & Business Summit in Sydney from July 6 to 10.

The five-day residential youth summit features inspirational speakers and interactive sessions intended to equip young people with key skills that are not taught in school but are necessary for day to day life as a teen and into adulthood to maintain their wellbeing and embrace their greatness. Scout is looking forward to learning from people with different points of view at the Summit.

Scout’s attendance at the conference is supporting by Gisborne & District Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank as part of its Scholarships for Lifelong Learning program.

Last year the branch sponsored Gisborne Secondary College student Polly Reid to attend the conference. She so valued the experience that the branch continued the scholarship this year and extended the opportunity to three local students. Savannah Roberts of Sacred Heart College Kyneton and Nicholas Whitely of Gisborne Secondary College will be attending the conference with Scout, also on branch scholarships.

Volunteer branch director, Brian Collins, says the branch team is very pleased to extend this opportunity to Scout; “our Community Bank branch is all about reinvesting local profits in the local community, and we have a special focus on investing in local youth as they represent our community’s future”.

Congratulations Scout, we hope you enjoy the summit!
