Year 11 Artwork from Exeat Week
Our Year 11’s recently had their art exhibited in Jackson Hall. The work had been created during their Exeat Week Art Camp to Horsham.
The students spent a day drawing at Mount Arapiles; sketching the landscape and focussing on both the ‘macro’ and the ‘micro’.
There was then two days making their artworks, lead by Artist, Anthony Pelchen. The students travelled to Federation University and attended charcoal drawing and monoprinting workshops. All of the works that were displayed in Jackson Hall were created using monoprinting. Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that has lines or images that can only be made once, unlike most other printmaking where there may be multiple originals. The students worked on perspex boards, inking them up and then wiping away the ink using brushes, cards and other tools. The piece was then put through the printing press to create the final artwork.
