ICCES Cross Country

At the end of July, students from Years 7-12 travelled to Bundoora to compete in this year’s ICCES Cross Country competition.

Braemar placed fifth out of eight schools overall in what was a close competition. There were only 30 points separating fifth from third place at the end of the day.  Ballarat Grammar took out first place with only a 3 point advantage.

It was a great team effort from our Braemar students on a dry but very windy day. The course is a tough course at the best of times, and the blustery conditions made the run that little bit harder.

We had many top 10 and top 20 finishers which is a fantastic effort by our students.

The following students placed in the top 10 in their age groups:

  • Brodie Buerckner – 9th Place – Intermediate Boys
  • Joshua Smith – 10th Place – Intermediate Boys
  • Emily Conroy – 4th Place – Junior Girls
  • Lily Cowburn – 7th Place – Senior Girls
  • Jacob Grinter – 5th Place – Junior Boys

And congratulations to Nysa Males who placed in the top three in her age group, coming third for the Junior Girls.
