Great Victorian Bike Ride, 2017

On Saturday, 25 November, twenty-eight students, three staff and a number of parents set off to Tidal River, Wilsons Prom to start the nine-day journey that was this year’s Great Victorian Bike Ride.
The trip was scheduled to cover 540 kilometres as the riders travelled through South Gippsland to the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. Unfortunately, with only two days to go, the ride had to be cancelled because of severe weather warnings that were issued across a lot of Victoria. The trip finished off in Maffra instead and Bicycle Network (the hosts of the ride) ensure that the (revised) final campsite still offered food, celebration and a live band to celebrate the rider’s achievement.
Though the conditions were hot and humid, the whole team did a great job and had a fantastic time riding and camping all over our beautiful Victorian landscape.
Have a look at some of the great shots of our team enjoying the ride below.
