Magic Moments 2019

One of our talented Year 11 students, Hannah Lilford, has been in Sydney since last Friday, broadening her horizons and building her leadership skills by attending the Magic Moments Youth Leadership & Business Summit.

The five-day residential youth summit features inspirational speakers and interactive sessions intended to equip young people with key skills that are not taught in school but are necessary for day-to-day life as a teen and into adulthood in order to maintain their wellbeing and embrace their greatness.

Before leaving on the summit, Hannah shared that she was looking forward to developing meaningful connections with new people and was eager to learn more about herself, others, and how to empower herself to achieve her goals.

The full cost of Hannah attending the conference is being covered by Gisborne & District Community Bank branch of the Bendigo Bank as part of its Scholarships for Lifelong Learning Program.

Joshua de Jonge, of Salesian College, and Lauryn Mifsud, of Gisborne Secondary College, also attended the conference with Hannah on branch scholarships. Braemar’s Scout Seeley was one of three local students sent last year.

Bendigo Bank Branch Manager, Sarah Barton, says the branch team is very pleased to extend this opportunity to Hannah; “our Community Bank branch is all about reinvesting local profits in the local community, and we have a special focus on investing in local youth as they represent our community’s future.”

We look forward to hearing more from Hannah to find out how the summit went!
